IAN HOLLOWAY'S Blackpool are confident they will beat the big freeze for the visit of Manchester United on Saturday despite having no undersoil heating.
The Bloomfield Road pitch has been covered all week even though the Fylde coast has not seen the worst of the wintry conditions.
Even so, temperatures are unlikely to rise above freezing over the next three days.
A club spokesman said: "We've not had the snow they've had in other parts of the country. We've just had a ground frost.
"The pitch is covered and we've not got any worries at this moment."
The way United were hammered 4-0 by West Ham in the snow on Tuesday will encourage boss Ollie to do everything possible to get the game on.
