Blackpool fear Saturday's home match with Manchester United could fall victim to the weather.
The cold snap all around Britain has forced a number of games this weekend to be postponed because of frozen pitches.
Blackpool have been forced to hire a heated pitch cover to protect the Bloomfield Road surface because of the sub-zero temperatures around the country.
The Premier League new boys do not have undersoil heating and, with temperatures expected to drop even further overnight, the club have admitted they have major concerns with the pitch for the tea-time kick-off.
The club are working overtime in a bid to ensure their first league meeting with United since the 1970s goes ahead.
