Overnight frost and temperatures of below minus eight have left parts of the Blackpool pitch frozen solid and despite groundstaff working around the clock in order to get the game played the decision has been made to call off the match.
Blackpool have the pitch covered, with hot air blowers doing their best to thaw the turf, but continued freezing conditions are expected to make the problem worse.
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand confirmed on his Twitter page: "Blackpool game tomorrow called off due to the frozen pitch, so gutted tweeps. "
