HK 0 - 0 Belarus (314558595)
Sunny 31-12-2010 20.00
The 130008 fans in attendance at kch Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Hong Kong tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Chongbin - 海晶 (Haijing) , Hoang Vuong, Yeong Ching - Jianying, 寶國 (Baoguo) , 淮涌 (Huaiyong) , Jones, 豪廷 (Haoting) - 力金 (Lijin) , Xinjia.
Belarus had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Pasahovich - Ramanovich, Zadworna, Lapashka - Skarynchyk, Rakhmanov, Volchkov, Bledz'ko, Radzienau - Trasko, Bandarovich.
7 minutes into the game, Maksim Bandarovich almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Hong Kong's Lin Hoang Vuong got himself booked for a foul. Belarus's Mscislau Lapashka went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. Hong Kong's 連 (Lian) 豪廷 (Haoting) was shown a yellow card after 32 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Hong Kong, with an impressive 51 percent possession of the ball.
Priding himself in being an active coach, the Belarus manager gave new instructions to his players after 46 minutes. Hong Kong created a good opportunity to score 54 minutes into the match when Lin Hoang Vuong's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. Hong Kong had a good opportunity to take the lead as 莫 (Mo) 淮涌 (Huaiyong) came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Alizar Pasahovich. 連 (Lian) 豪廷 (Haoting) didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. Kamil Zadworna would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Radzivon Zialenkavets entered the game for Belarus as the match clock showed 60 minutes. After 60 minutes, the Belarus coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. Hong Kong were very close to putting themselves one up after 74 minutes as Hu Xinjia got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. Under heavy pressure after 76 minutes, the inexperienced Belarus struggled to maintain their level of play. As the 80 minute approached, the Belarus coach decided it was time for a substitution. Oleg Rakhmanov reluctantly made way for Arkadz' Leksin on the pitch. 85 minutes into the game, Belarus wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Alizar Pasahovich gave Danila Kozel a quick hug as he left the field. Danila Kozel became the new Belarus captain. This half belonged to Hong Kong, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
Hu Xinjia performed admirably for Hong Kong. Dou Jianying was a disappointment, however. Belarus's best player was Radzivon Zialenkavets. On the other hand, Spirydon Skarynchyk's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 0.
