SSC Napoli formalizes the purchase of Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine striker, 25, arrives from Real Madrid.

Gonzalo Higuain was born in Brest, France, December 10, 1987, but is an Argentine national.
He started in 2004 with River Plate. In three years, 15 goals in 35 games in the Premiera Division. In January 2007, the move to Real Madrid. It has 107 goals in 191 appearances in La Liga. In more than 4 goals in 21 appearances in the Copa del Rey and 2 goals in 5 games in the Spanish Super Cup.
He played for seven seasons in the Champions League by collecting 8 goals in 48 appearances.
National boasts 19 goals in 33 games. In addition, he scored two goals in his only appearance with the National Olympic team.
With Real Madrid won 3 league titles (2007, 2008 and 2012), a cup of Spain, in 2011, and two Spanish Super Cups, in 2008 and 2012.

Carlo Ancelotti quashed reports that a deal has been agreed betweenNapoli and Real Madrid for Gonzalo Higuain after the Argentina strikernetted in a 6-0 friendly win over Bournemouth.


Ancelloti, managing the Spanish giants for the first time afterreplacing Jose Mourinho this summer, introduced the forward at the breakand he took just two minutes to score Madrid's fourth in an emphaticvictory at Dean Court.
And the Italian confirmed he wants the forward - who has been closelylinked with both Arsenal and Chelsea as well as Napoli - to stay andthat until he hears otherwise he will be treating Higuain as one of hisfirst-team squad.
"Not true, I don't have any news about this," he said at the pressconference when asked to confirm whether a deal had been agreed with theItalian club.
"I think that now we have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madridplayer. He is a fantastic player and a fantastic striker who took oneminute to score tonight.
"I spoke to him this week. He is a Real Madrid player and until wehave news we have to consider him as a Real Madrid player and I wouldlike him to stay with us.
"He is very important to us and nothing else - it is not my business to judge the price of a player."
Cristiano Ronaldo netted the first two goals of his new manager'sreign and predictably talk soon turned to the importance of a player sorevered on these shores from his time at Manchester United.
Ancelotti explained how he sees his number seven as the mostimportant player at the club amid rumours this week that a new deal ison the way for the Portugal international.
"I think Ronaldo is the most important player in this team because he is the player with the best quality," he said.
"I think we will help him every time to do his best because if hedoes that every time we have a great opportunity for this season.
"His future is at Real Madrid, there is no question about this."
The Cherries started strongly and more than held their own for thefirst 20 minutes but after Ronaldo's double Sami Khedira scored on thestroke of half-time.
Higuain's early second-half strike was added to by Angel Di Maria andthen Casemiro as a capacity crowd enjoyed a rare chance to see some ofthe world's best players at Dean Court.
But despite the quality of the opponents Bournemouth boss Eddie Howerevealed his dressing room was still an unhappy one at the finalwhistle.
"The feeling after was disappointment," he said. "No one wants to getbeaten and no one wants to lose. It is a horrible feeling no matter whoyou lose to. We are not downhearted but we are disappointed.
"From our perspective we knew it was going to very difficult and wedidn't want to change anything too much so we could test our playerswith our style of football.
"For the first 20/25 minutes we took the game to them until the first goal, it was a great experience for our lads.
"The club has been through so much in recent years - these are good days for the club.
"Hopefully everyone enjoyed today and enjoys this year as it is notoften the club has played at this level. It is not every day you get tosee Ronaldo at Dean Court."

Napoli to bid more than ?35m for Arsenal target Higuain

The Serie A club are in pole position to capture the Real Madrid striker and will use the Edinson Cavani funds to make a renewed attempt to sign the Argentine this week

Napoli will bid more than ?35 million for Gonzalo Higuain this week, Goal understands.

The Serie A club are planning to use the proceeds of the ?60m Edinson Cavani sale to capture a proven centre-forward in the coming weeks.

Napoli moved for the Real Madrid striker earlier in the window and have turned their attention back to the 25-year-old after failing to prise Leandro Damiao from Internacional.

Higuain came close to joining Arsenal earlier in July, with the Gunners offering ?27m to prise him from the Santiago Bernabeu as well as agreeing personal terms with the player.

But Real Madrid held out for a higher price and Arsene Wenger switched his attention to capturing Luis Suarez from Liverpool after learning the Uruguayan was interested in a move to Emirates Stadium.

Napoli are now in pole position to capture Higuain but there are still a number of hurdles to be overcome before a deal is agreed.

Although Madrid have claimed Higuain is not for sale amid reports of a deal having been completed, Goal understands the Spanish club would accept an offer slightly above the ?35m mark.

"Higuain to Napoli a done deal? Not true, I don't have any news about this," Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti told reporters after his side's 6-0 friendly win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

"We still have to speak about Higuain as a Real Madrid player at this point."

It is believed that Napoli will bid around ?37m for the striker and a deal could be agreed quickly if negotiations over the player's image rights can be settled.

Higuain has two years remaining on a Nike sponsorship deal worth around ?1.7m-a-year but Napoli would prefer to take control of his image rights and pay him a more lucrative salary.

The forward earns a relatively modest ?74,000-a-week at Real and Napoli are set to offer him a deal in line with the ?116,000-a-week starting salary he had agreed with Arsenal.

Wenger is still monitoring Higuain's situation but plans to bring him to Emirates Stadium are on the backburner as the Frenchman attempts to land Suarez for ?47m in a deal that would smash the club transfer record.
