Fiorentina agree fee with Villarreal to sign Borja Valero

The Viola appear to have won the race to sign the highly-ratedSpanish midfielder, although personal terms have yet to be finalised

Fiorentina have agreed a transfer taking midfielder Borja Valero to Italy this summer from relegated Liga club Villarreal.

Relegation from the top flight is expected tosignal an exodus of the Spanish club's stars, with Cristian Zapata andGiuseppe Rossi expected to follow in Valero's footsteps for an exit.

Astatement on the Italian team's official website read: "Villarreal andFiorentina confirm they have reached an agreement for the outrighttransfer of the player Borja Valero.

"This will be subject to the signing of the player's contract."

Valero'sonly experience abroad was with English Premier League outfit West Bromin 2008. He subsequently went on to earn a single cap for the Spainnational side.
