AC Milan and Brazil forward Alexandre Pato has agreed to join Campeonato outfit Corinthians, according to the player’s agent.Pato has been linked with a return to his homeland over the past week, as he attempts to work his way back to full fitness following a horror run with injuries over the past 12 months.
Reports in Italy claimed Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani had been in Brazil over the Christmas period in order to finalise a deal, and Pato’s agent Gilmar Veloz believes an agreement has now been reached.
"Pato has chosen Corinthians," Veloz told Sky Sport 24. “Since he decided to return to Brazil, Corinthians was the first choice.
"I understood Pato needed to leave to experience another club and he chose Corinthians. And Galliani understood his reasons.
"Corinthians have welcomed him well, and they are doing everything possible to help [Pato] settle in.
"There are still some details to be resolved between the two clubs. But it is not for me to speak what exactly they are."
The reported deal would see Pato complete his transfer to Corinthians in January.
