Bayer accept Juve’s Vidal offer



Juventus have agreed a ?12m deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Chilean international Arturo Vidal.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus director general Beppe Marotta held talks with Bayer official Rudi Voller in Milan earlier today.

The player’s agent was also present at the negotiations.

Bayer initially wanted ?15m for the midfielder, while Juventus were hoping to sign him for closer to ?10m.

Vidal has been made available by the German club given that he has less than a year left on his contract in the Bundesliga.

Vidal will replace Felipe Melo in the Old Lady midfield after the Brazilian international confirmed that he is leaving Juve.

Juve and Bayer could do more transfer business this summer as the latter have been linked with Momo Sissoko.

Chile international Arturo Vidal has confirmed that he will move from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen to Juventus.

Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the Chilean player Arturo Vidal has been finalized. The contract envisages the payment by Juventus of ? 10.5 million in three instalments: ? 5 million at the international transfer release, ? 3 million on 30 June 2012 and ? 2.5 million on 31 December 2012.

The purchase value may increase by a further maximum of ? 2 million on achieving given sports performances in the course of the duration of the contract.

Juventus and the player have signed a 5-year contract of employment.
