Corinthians midfielder Paulinho is set to undergo a medical at Tottenham ahead of his proposed move to White Hart Lane for a fee of around £17 million, according to BBC Sport.
The 24-year-old arrived in London on Thursday, with his medical scheduled for Friday.
The Brazil international will also meet Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas and chairman Daniel Levy before finalising the terms of his contract, believed to be a four or five-year deal.
The likes of Inter Milan and Real Madrid had also shown an interest in Paulinho, but he is expected to move to White Hart Lane, having confirmed as much on Monday.
"The proposal came, we sat down, analysed it and decided. It was a big decision to go to a big club. There comes a certain point when you need new challenges," he said.
The midfielder spent three years at Corinthians, scoring 34 goals in 167 games for the Brazilian side.
He also played a part in the Selecao's triumphant Confederations Cup campaign, where he was named the third best player in the tournament behind Neymar and Andres Iniesta, while he has won 17 caps in total for his country.
