I Am Different To Jose Mourinho & Could Win Six Trophies This Year - Inter Coach Rafael BenitezRafael Benitez has said he is no anti-Mourinho during his unveiling press conference and he hopes to keep a winning squad together...
Inter coach Rafael Benitez believes he can do better than what Jose Mourinho did during his two year reign there.
Benitez was unveiled by the club at Appaino Gentile and it wasn't long before he made his pitch.
The coach is aware of the quality he has at hand, and he wants to maximise those powers to generate a squad that can better special achievements as he tried to match the taste and expectations of the Nerazzurri faithful.
"It's hard to improve a winning team, but we are looking at everything," he told the press.
"Mourinho said he wasn't stupid? I am here because I am intelligent. We can win six trophies this year. I have experience, but we have to work hard because we have tough games in August.
"I am different to Mourinho. He did a great job here. I like playing good football and to win. I want to do my job."You can breathe football here and we will try to do everything possible so we can do our best. I am proud to coach Inter.
"The club comes off the back of a winning year and I hope that the players do not lose their will to win."
Mourinho was often criticised by the Italian media for playing unattractive football. Benitez promised things will be different. He wants spectacular football based on the Spanish model to win, but with spectacle.
"The mentality here is similar to the Spanish one. If we play good football and win then it will be good," he added.
Benitez was quiet in relation to transfer market plans, perhaps because chief Massimo Moratti earlier warned that spending would be curbed.
"It's hard to improve. Maybe we can do something, but we have to value things. I prefer to work with tranquility with the club," he said.
