Vermaelen back in the squad for Bolton game
Thomas Vermaelen is back in the Arsenal squad for tonight's Carling Cup tie.
The Belgian centre back has not played since helping the Gunners qualify for the Champions League with a win at Udinese on August 24. Since then he has undergone a minor procedure to remove an inflamed plantaris tendon from his left ankle.
Vermaelen's rehabilitation has gone extremely well and he could start against Bolton Wanderers at Emirates Stadium.
"We want to win so there is no perfect game [to bring a player back] but Thomas has worked very hard physically so he should be ready," Arsène Wenger told Arsenal.com.
"I have not decided who will start yet but we will try to find a good mixture. Vermaelen might play, Squillaci might play and of course Fabianski too. We will have an experienced team out there but of course some young players."
