Grygera to complete Fulham move



Fulham are expected to complete their transfer for Juventus defender Zdenek Grygera later today.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the 31-year-old Czech international has practically agreed terms with the Cottagers and he’ll undergo a medical in London.

“Hopefully it will come out well. I take Fulham as a big call and will experience another top league,” Grygera told CTK.

“The Premier League is probably the most followed competition at the moment and I am tempted by the prospect of being a part of it.

“This spell can teach me a lot as a footballer as well as a human being. I will come to know a different mentality and learn another language. The same goes for all my family.”

Former Ajax defender Grygera is on the market after it became clear he was not part of Coach Antonio Conte’s plans for this season.

“It is not easy for me to be leaving Juventus. Juventus is Juventus and, moreover, I have come to love Italy.

“But the situation there has developed in recent weeks that I would hardly make it into the nomination of 18 or 20 players.

“I have decided to leave and Fulham are an excellent option.”

According to Sky Sports Tottenham have offered West Ham the chance to take Jake Livermore on a season-long loan as part of their bid to land Scott Parker. The midfielder was left out of West Ham's squad for the visit to Nottm Forest on Sunday.

Experienced defender targets Arsenal move

Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell admits he would love a return to the club, having been released by Newcastle at the end of last season.

The 36-year-old, hence, is available on a free transfer and, despite his age, is desperate to gain another contract, should the right offer come in.

And Campbell, who has trained with Arsenal this summer, would be delighted if Arsene Wenger came knocking once more.

"It would be nice to go back to Arsenal, for sure," Campbell told The Guardian. "I trained there for a month [after leaving Newcastle in May] and have been doing regular fitness work on my own since."

Whether or not Wenger makes a move for Campbell remains to be seen, but the Arsenal boss is known to be in the market for a centre-back.

Arsenal have seen bids for Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill rejected in their pursuit of defensive reinforcements.

Modric 'didn't want to play'

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp claims Luka Modric asked to be left out of Sunday's thrashing against Manchester City.

The Croatian has been a summer-long target of Chelsea, but Spurs have maintained a stance he is not for sale.

Modric is understood to want to move to Stamford Bridge and as a result begged not to be included in the 5-1 lost to Roberto Mancini's City in a bid to force a deal.

But Redknapp ignored the pleas and started the playmaker before substituting him after 65 minutes as Spurs were hammered at White Hart Lane.

The Tottenham boss is quoted as saying in The Sun: "Luka came to me at 11.30am and said to me, 'I don't feel my head is right today'.
