Michael Ballack turns down Germany farewell match and brands it 'a farce'The German veteran is not planning to play one last match for his country as he criticised the offer made by the national coach
Bayer Leverkusen star Michael Ballack has indicated he will not take part in Germany's upcoming friendly with Brazil as his farewell game for the national side, calling the proposal 'a farce'.
Germany coach Joachim Low stated on Thursday that Ballack's time with the national squad was up, after the midfielder had made 98 appearances for his country.
Low added that the 34-year-old would be given the opportunity to play one last match in August, when Germany take on Brazil in a friendly match, but the former Chelsea man has now turned down the offer."Turning a friendly match, which has been planned for so long, into my farewell is, in my opinion, a farce," Ballack told newspaper Bild.
"I know I owe it to my fans to participate in that game, but I cannot accept this offer."Ballack has also
criticised the manner in which he knew about Low's decision not to call him up again for future international matches, saying:
"The form and content of his message surprised and disappointed me because they reflect the way he has been treating me since I got injured last summer."http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/2011/06/17/2536707/michael-ballack-turns-down-germany-farewell-match-and-brandsBallack拒絕踢告別賽
