Wolves' Nuno named Premier League manager of the month for OctoberLast Updated: 12/10/18 2:32pm
Nuno Espirito Santo is the Premier League's manager of the month for September, after leading Wolves to 10 points from four games. The standout result of the month may have been their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, but they also picked up impressive wins over West Ham, Southampton and Burnley to rise to seventh in the Premier League, only three points off fourth-placed Arsenal. Wolves have also broken a Premier League record in that time, with Nuno naming the same starting line-up for the first eight games of a season for the first time. They are in their first season in the top flight since 2012 after he led them to the Sky Bet Championship title last season, and after beating Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park last Saturday, have won as many top-flight games in their last five games as they did in their previous 40.
The former Porto boss dedicated the award to Wolves' entire backroom staff, and told the club's website: "It represents the effort of everybody working here in Compton, everyone at Molineux, our fans, the players, everybody.
"There's no individual prizes in football, everything comes from the team. Everybody is in the pack."
Nuno clinched the award over Pep Guardiola, who has led Manchester City to the top of the league, Jurgen Klopp at unbeaten Liverpool and Unai Emery at Arsenal - who won all their league games during September.
