Andy Carroll Returns To England Squad For Euro 2012 Qualifier Against Wales; Matt Jarvis & Kyle Walker Also Included
Capello springs double surprise for Cardiff clash
England boss Fabio Capello has called up Wolves’ wide man Matt Jarvis up to the squad for next weekend’s Euro 2012 crunch clash with Wales at the Millennium Stadium and the Wembley freindly with Ghana.
The 24-year-old has taken part in all but one of Wolves’ Premier League fixtures this season and netted four goals in the process.
Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard fulfill their usual berths in midfield and are accompanied by Jack Wilshere, James Milner, Ashley Young, Scott Parker, Aaron Lennon and Stewart Downing.
Kyle Walker is again a defensive inclusion having made the squad for last month’s friendly with Denmark and the Tottenham loanee is joined by White Hart Lane favourite Michael Dawson.
Gary Cahill and Phil Jagielka make the squad and England experience comes in the form of Leighton Baines, Ashley Cole, Glen Johnson and John Terry.
Carling Cup winning Ben Foster is joined by Robert Green and recent number one Joe Hart on goalkeeping duty whilst Capello puts his faith in Liverpool new-boy Andy Carroll up-front along with stalwarts Peter Crouch, Wayne Rooney, Jermain Defoe and Aston Villa’s Darren Bent.
England travel to the Welsh capital without international veterans Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand but know victory would catapult them to the top of Group G.
