Luol Deng and Marco Belinelli with 18 points apiece were among five Chicago players in double figures, but the shorthanded Bulls fell to the Nets 93-89 in Brooklyn on Friday. Taj Gibson added 16 points and nine boards for Chicago (28-18), which was without Carlos Boozer, Kirk Hinrich and Joakim Noah.

Kirk Hinrich is not with the team, having left Thursday night to return to Chicago to have his elbow examined. It appears he has a recurrence of an infection from earlier this season and could be out a week, though there is no timetable.

Joakim Noah had a recurrence of a foot injury that has been bothering him some and is not playing. He didn’t work out before the game and was limping coming into the arena. It could be a plantar fasciitis flareup, though that was unclear. Carlos Boozer did shoot before the game, but decided to be cautious with his hamstring problem. All three could also be out Saturday in Atlanta.

Elhassan acknowledges the difficulties the Bulls would have given the fact that they are "hard-capped" for the season, but it's the last line that should give Bulls fans pause. Yahoo! Sports reported that Redick's agent, Arn Tellem, will be looking for a four-year, $40 million deal this summer. While he may not get that, it doesn't seem like the Bulls would be willing to invest that heavily in a player who would only make them marginally better.
