【黃之鋒爸爸媽媽新聞稿】
今晚我們孩子之鋒的律師告知我們之鋒需要在警署渡過他第二個被羈留的晚上。
之鋒已經被羈留超過25小時，但警方仍然拒絕就他被釋放的時間定一個確實的答案。
之鋒的律師告知我們有鑑於他所面對的控罪，他的年紀以及他從無任何刑事紀錄，之鋒被警方持續羈留是毫無法律理由。
由此，我們認為對於之鋒被持續羈留是出於政治原因，甚至是政治逼害。
我們從小教導之鋒成為一個體恤人，關懷人，有原則和忠誠的人。我們對於之鋒為使香港能成為一個更美好的地方，為他的那一代及我們這一代所作的所有事感到非常驕傲。
我們非常愛護之鋒，亦要求警方停止濫用他們的權力，立刻釋放我們只有17歲的孩子之鋒。

Press release of Grace and Roger Wong parents of Joshua Wong
Tonight we have just been told by our son's lawyers that Joshua is to spend another night in police custody.
He has now been in custody for over 25 hours and police still refuse to set a time for his release.
We have also been told by Joshua's lawyers that they can see no legal justification for this continued detention given the nature of the allegations, his young age, and his clear record.
We can therefore only conclude that the decision to continue to detain him is a political one and that this in fact political persecution.
We have always brought up Joshua to be compassionate, caring, principled and loyal, and we are very proud of all that he is doing to make Hong Kong a better place for his generation, and our generation.
We love him very much and
call upon the police to stop this misuse of their powers and release our 17 year old son without delay.
