Terry to miss World Cup?
John Terry has been taken to hospital after suffering a bad blow to his right foot that could rule the defender out of England's squad for the World Cup.
Fabio Capello already has injury doubts over a number of players, including Gareth Barry, and Terry can now add himself to the list after a possible metatarsal injury that he suffered in a Chelsea training session at Cobham.
Already with problems over the fitness of Rio Ferdinand and Ledley King's chronic knee, England named six central defenders in their provisional squad, giving call-ups to Michael Dawson, Jamie Carragher and Matthew Upson.
Terry had a scan on Wednesday and Chelsea have said that they expect to see the results on Thursday, with the defender almost a certainty to miss the FA Cup final with Portsmouth this weekend.
A statement from the club said: ''John Terry has today taken a knock in training and has gone to hospital for a precautionary scan on his right foot. He left Cobham walking freely in a protective boot, and we await the results which are expected on Thursday.''

No break for Terry
And he is confident he will play at Wembley at the weekend
John Terry has confirmed that he has not suffered a broken metatarsal and that he still hopes to play in this weekend's FA Cup final.
Terry suffered an injury during training with his club on Wednesday and he was forced to leave their Cobham training complex with a protective boot on his foot.
He immediately went to hospital for a precautionary scan, but they showed no break - amid fears he had suffered a broken metatarsal.
"I took a slight knock in training but with such an important match on Saturday the right course of action was to put a protective boot on my right foot and have a CT scan," said Terry.
"The scan has shown there is no break and I am hoping to train tomorrow if not Friday and of course play in the FA Cup final on Saturday."
Terry will be desperate to avoid any injury as he prepares to lead Chelsea on Saturday against Portsmouth as they hope to complete the first Double in the club's history.
England coach Fabio Capello will also be keeping abreast of the situation as he looks to avoid any injuries ahead of the World Cup finals
