LOKOMOTIV PREPARE PAVLYUCHENKO BIDLokomotiv Moscow are ready to make a fresh attempt to sign Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko this summer.
Pavlyuchenko was a target for Lokomotiv earlier this year before establishing himself as an important part of Spurs' team en route to qualification for the Champions League.
The Russia international had previously been considering a move away from White Hart Lane, but has recently stated that he has "dropped all ideas" about leaving.
A renewed approach from Lokomotiv is still likely to be forthcoming after the club's president Nikolai Naumov outlined the intent to improve the team's striking options.
"In the coming days we will once again enter into negotiations about Pavlyuchenko," Naumov told the Russian media. "We need attacking players, especially a forward."
Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov expects Lokomotiv to make a bid for the forward, but insists the former Spartak Moscow wants to stay at Spurs.
Artemov said: "Having the coach's trust, the player's performance and Tottenham's qualification for the Champions League are three major factors why Pavlyuchenko has remained in England.
"Now we can say with confidence that he has adapted to the championship.
"Roman is ready to fulfil his contract. But so say there will be no more negotiations would be categorical and incorrect.
"Lokomotiv, judging by the words of (coach Yuri) Semin and Naumov are going to sign a strong forward this summer - and will certainly not be averse to resuming negotiations on the transfer of Pavlyuchenko."
