Burnley have made a bid for Belgium midfielder Steven Defour but may struggle to convince him to move to Turf Moor.
The Anderlecht captain wants to leave after being turned on by a section of the club's support and is available for £6million.
Defour became a victim of abuse from a minority of fans unable to forget that he won two major titles with Anderlecht's main rivals, Standard Liege, before leaving for Porto in 2011.
The 28-year-old was sent off on his return to Liege after reacting to taunts from the home supporters and the unfurling of a banner that featured the caption: 'Red or dead'.

Anderlecht supporters also vented their feelings following Defour's nomination as captain by placing their own abusive banner above the entrance to the club's ground.
The former Porto midfielder has also had drinks thrown at him by supporters, prompting his agent Paul Stefani to admit the player is losing his patience.
'Steven loves being captain at Anderlecht but some things happened with some supporters, like insults and drinks being thrown, that didn't please him,' Stefani told la Derniere Heure. 'He suffered greatly from that.'
'The directors see for themselves that he's unhappy. If there's a good offer for all the parties involved then we'll talk about it.
'Certain clubs have got in touch to know Steven's situation. If it's more probable to see him leave than to see him stay? In my opinion, the answer is yes.'

Steven Defour undergoes Burnley medical ahead of switch from Anderlecht - Sky sources

Belgium international Steven Defour is undergoing a medical at Burnley ahead of a switch from Anderlecht, according to Sky sources.

The Belgian club announced on Friday that they had agreed a deal with the Clarets for the 28-year-old's transfer.

Burnley lost their opening Premier League game of the season at home to Swansea, playing 32-year-old Dean Marney and Scott Arfield in midfield.

Defour, 28, was once of interest to Manchester United some seven years ago, but he has recently lost his place in the Belgium team and was not included in their Euro 2016 squad.

In 2009, Sir Alex Ferguson wrote a letter to Defour confirming Manchester United were still interested in signing him despite him suffering a long-term foot injury.

Although a move to English football did not materialise, Defour has now finally secured a move to the Premier League with newly-promoted Burnley, with his club Anderlecht wishing him "good luck" on Twitter.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche had said on Thursday the club were finding it difficult to compete in an "astounding" transfer market this summer ahead of their season opener against Swansea on Saturday.

Defour attracted controversy with transfers earlier in his career when he switched to Anderlecht from rivals Standard Liege, sparking an explicit banner from their fans during a game.

The midfielder responded by kicking the ball into the crowd and was subsequently sent off, while Standard went on to win the match 2-0.
