Crystal Palace are still frantically negotiating the potential arrival of up to three new players to bolster Roy Hodgson’s squad and steer the team to Premier League safety. Talks continue with Midtjylland over a fee for their 22-year-old Norway international forward, Alexander Sorloth, while reports in Spain suggest that the London club’s chances of securing the goalkeeper Vicente Guaita from Getafe have been boosted. The Spanish club are understood to be close to securing Miguel Ángel Moyá from Atlético Madrid as a replacement, a move which would then see them sanction Guaita’s departure.
Should that deal to Palace fail to materialise today, then it is likely to be revived in the summer. Palace have interest, too, in Lille’s Ibrahim Amadou whom they hope to secure initially on loan for a fee of around £2m, with the move to be made permanently for a further £14m in the summer if the Londoners stay up. It has all gone suspiciously quiet on the mooted interest in Fenerbahce’s Ozan Tufan, who may have alternative offers from Spain. Tick tock.
