舒韋恩史迪加（Bastian Schweinsteiger）落實轉投美職芝加哥火燄已經不是秘密，日前他更在Twiter社交網站貼上自己與芝加哥火燄軍醫布隆古恩的合照，看似已經到球會報到。然而新消息指，他尚要等待美國工作證之後才可以真正落班，故決定在等候期間好好訓練一下自己。

「小豬」日前決定與西乙球隊馬略卡一同集訓，而這個消息亦在他個人社交網站Instagram得到證實：「非常感謝馬略卡，謝謝你讓我出現在你們的訓練場地當中。我的美國工作證很快就會準備好，在此之前我都會在馬略卡好好訓練。真的很感謝這個安排。」

舒韋恩史迪加在摩連奴入主之後鮮有披上曼聯戰衣上陣，就連近幾場比賽曼聯有不少中場球員高掛免戰牌，摩連奴都未把他列入可用兵源當中，更決定讓他轉戰美職。

Bastian Schweinsteiger didn't get the chance to say goodbye to Man Utd team-mates

Bastian Schweinsteiger has revealed he did not get the chance to properly say goodbye to his Manchester United team-mates before signing for Chicago Fire.

The German's move to the Major League Soccer club was officially confirmed by United on Wednesday afternoon after the formality of his visa had been resolved.

Schweinsteiger's stay at Old Trafford ended last week after he agreed to join Chicago Fire on a one-year contract.

But so rushed was the deal, he revealed he did not have the opportunity to bid farewell to the United players - who were busy preparing for their Premier League game away at Middlesbrough.

"It was not so easy because the decision was a bit late so I couldn't say a proper goodbye to the team," Schweinsteiger said.

"Also they had a match away against - I can't remember - but they had a match on Sunday so I couldn't really tell them because I didn't want the focus on me, I wanted to have the focus on the team and the game. So I was very happy that they won.

"I had a great time there, especially with the team-mates and the staff there, it was a good time and I enjoyed it there."

Schweinsteiger could make his debut for Chicago Fire - who finished last in the Eastern Conference last season, winning just seven of their 34 matches - this weekend when they face Montreal Impact at Toyota Park.

"I am ready," he added. "I was preparing before I came here and, of course, I need some days more training but I feel I am ready whenever the coach needs me.

"I need more training sessions to have the right rhythm, where I want to see myself, but my head is more than 100 per cent and I feel quite comfortable. The training session was pretty intense today and I could do it, so that was good."

Jose Mourinho regrets treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger at Man United

Jose Mourinho admits he regrets the way he treated Bastian Schweinsteiger at Manchester United and revealed he apologised to the German before his move to Chicago Fire.

The 32-year-old completed his switch to Chicago earlier this week after being restricted to four appearances and one start at United under Mourinho this season.

Schweinsteiger was forced to train apart from the first team until November and was written off as an asset by United in the club's accounts before eventually earning a recall.

With nine games in April and a number of injuries and suspensions, Mourinho could have used Schweinsteiger between now and the end of the season.

However, he felt he could not stand in the way of him leaving given how he treated the former World Cup winner earlier in the season.

"He's in the category of players that I feel sorry for something that I did to him," Mourinho said.

"I don't want to speak about him as a player, I don't want to speak as I buy or not to buy. I want to speak about him as a professional, as a human being.

"The last thing I told him before he left 'I was not right with you once, I have to be right with you now'.

"So when he was asking me to let him leave, I had to say 'yes, you can leave' because I did it once, I cannot do it twice.

"So I feel sorry for the first period with him, he knows that. I am happy that he knows because I told him.

"I will miss a good guy, a good professional, a good influence in training - a very good influence.

"I could not stop him to go even knowing that until the end of the season we have so many matches and we would probably need him for a few matches or a few periods.

"I had to let him go and now publicly wish him and his wife a very happy life in Chicago."

Asked if he regrets the way he treated him, Mourinho said: "Yeah, I do."
