Manchester United's early-season form has been recognised with four nominations for August's Premier League awards.

Jose Mourinho is among five manager-of-the-month candidates after leading his side to three wins from three at the start of the campaign.

United have scored 10 goals and conceded none to date, and that record is reflected in the player-of-the-month nominations, with Phil Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku all in the frame.

Lukaku has hit the ground running following his £75m transfer from Everton, scoring three times, while Jones has started every game at centre-half and Mkhitaryan has already contributed five assists.

Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane and Mohamad Salah are also nominated after ending August with a combined five goals and one assist, with Chelsea's record signing Alvaro Morata completing the seven-man list alongside Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.

Newly-promoted Town are yet to concede a goal, and David Wagner is up for the manager's award along with Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Tony Pulis.

Liverpool's Sadio Mane wins August's Premier League Player of the Month award

Sadio Mane has picked up the Premier League Player of the Month award for August following impressive goal scoring start to the 2017/18 campaign.

The Liverpool forward has continued on from his fine debut season on Merseyside, scoring in each of their opening three Premier League fixtures.

Mane scored his first for the season in Liverpool's opening-day 3-3 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road on August 19, levelling the scoring for the Reds midway through the first half.

Mane then came to his side's rescue in the 73rd minute of Liverpool's 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace, scoring the only goal of the game to hand Jurgen Klopp's side a first Anfield victory of the season.

It was then on to a highly-anticipated Anfield clash against Arsenal, a game in which Liverpool showcased their newly-formed attacking trio of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

All three got their names on the scoresheet and heaped the pressure on Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, helping Liverpool to a comprehensive 4-0 victory, with Mane also chosen as the man of the match.

The Senegal international picks up the award having fended off competition from Phil Jones, Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan [Manchester United], Alvaro Morata [Chelsea], Jonas Lossl [Huddersfield] and Liverpool team-mate Salah.

This is the first time Mane has picked up a Premier League Player of the Month award since his move to England from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg in September 2014.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner wins Premier League Manager of the Month award

Huddersfield boss David Wagner has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month for August.

Following an impressive start to their first Premier League campaign, Wagner has led Huddersfield Town to third in the league, behind only Manchester United and Liverpool, on seven points.

Wagner, who guided the Terriers to promotion during his first managerial campaign in England, saw his side open their Premier League account with a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on the opening day.

Huddersfield then continued their dream start to life in the top flight by recording a 1-0 victory during their first home game of the season over Rafa Benitez's Newcastle United.

Wagner, a former understudy toJurgen Klopp, then watched on as his side kept a third consecutive clean sheet during a 0-0 draw with Mauricio Pellegrino's Southampton.

The votes of a panel of experts and the public were combined meaning, David Wagner beat a shortlist of Pep Guardiola [Manchester City], Tony Pulis [West Brom], Jurgen Klopp [Liverpool] and Jose Mourinho [Manchester United].

Should Huddersfield continue their defensive record against West Ham United at the London Stadium on Monday night, they will become the first Premier League newcomers to keep four consecutive clean sheets from as many opening games.
