Cristiano Ronaldo struck the WINNING penalty in Real Madrid's Champions League final shoot-out victory over Atletico Madrid - and he also finished top scorer in the competition for a fourth season running. The Portugal ace didn't get on the scoresheet in Milan but still finished with 16 goals from 12 appearances in the 2015/16 Champions League. That haul was seven more than second-placed Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich. Champions League 2015/16 - top scorers Ronaldo, the top scorer in Champions League and European Cup history, now has 93 goals to his name plus one he scored in qualifying. Barcelona rival Lionel Messi - who STARTED this season alongside Ronaldo on 77 Champions League goals - is in second spot on the list with 83 while Real Madrid legend Raul scored 71.
European Cup/Champions League all-time top scorers (inc. qualifying goals) This season Ronaldo broke his own record for goals in the group stage of the Champions League by scoring 11 times in six games, including four in the 8-0 WIN over Malmo. However, he fell one short of his record season total of 17, which he set in 2013/14.
When it comes to assists, Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Barcelona's Neymar and Kingsley Coman, on LOAN at Bayern Munich from Juventus, led the way with five each.
