Juventus defender Dani Alves has been offered a weekly £160,000 contract to join Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League. The 33-year-old Brazilian moved to Turin on a free transfer last summer to end an eight-year spell with Barcelona. If Alves agreed to the move to SIPG, he would link up with compatriots Hulk and Oscar. Alves started his career with Sevilla in 2003 before moving to the Nou Camp five years later.
Brazilian midfielder Oscar - who Sky sources understand is earning over £500,000 a week in China - left Stamford Bridge for Shanghai when the transfer window opened at the start of January.
The Chinese Super League is a growing force with former Manchester United and City striker Carlos Tevez reportedly earning around £610,000 a week - making him the highest paid player in world football - after his recent move from Boca Juniors to Shanghai Shenhua.
On January 19, China's Football Association announced that top-flight clubs would have an import restriction and allowed only to have three foreign players on the pitch when the new season starts in March.
