West Ham are aiming to push through a deal to sign striker Loic Remy on a season-long loan from Chelsea, according to Sky sources.

Hammers manager Slaven Bilic is keen to strengthen his forward options before the close of the summer transfer window, with strikers Andre Ayew, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho on the sidelines because of injury.

Bilic confirmed on Wednesday his interest in Wilfried Bony of Manchester City and Simone Zaza of Juventus, but Sky sources understand West Ham have opened talks with Chelsea in a bid to sign Remy on loan until the end of the season.

Remy, who joined Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, has not featured in any matchday squad so far this season under new Blues head coach Antonio Conte.

The 29-year-old - previously of Newcastle, Marseille, Nice and Lyon - made just 13 Premier League appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring one goal.

Sky sources understand La Liga side Valencia are also interested insigning Remy, while Crystal Palace have previously made enquiries into the availability of the Frenchman.

Chelsea, who refused to comment when contacted by Sky Sports News HQ, are understood to favour a straight forward sale but have not ruled out the possibility of a loan deal.

Crystal Palace are closing on a season-long loan deal for Chelsea striker Loic Remy, Sky sources understand.

The 29-year-old is yet to figure for Chelsea this season, with his chances of playing time at Stamford Bridge further limited by Michy Batshuayi's arrival over the summer.

Remy joined Chelsea in the summer of 2014 but the majority of his appearances have come off the bench, having made only nine starts in the Premier League since his move from QPR.

He scored three goals in 20 appearances last season but his only Premier League goal came against champions Leicester in a 2-1 defeat, with the others coming in the early stages of the Capital One Cup.

Palace boss Alan Pardew is keen to make another addition to his attacking options at Selhurst Park despite having already broken broken the club's transfer record to sign Christian Benteke from Liverpool for £32m.

And he has already worked with Remy as the France international had a successful spell on loan with Newcastle United in 2013-14 when Pardew was in charge at St James' Park.

Remy scored 14 goals in 24 Premier League games for Newcastle on loan from QPR the season before his move to west London.
