Martin Odegaard included in Real Madrid's squad for knockout stages of Champions League 
Real Madrid have included 16-year-old Martin Odegaard in their squad for the knockout stages of the Champions League. The highly-rated Norwegian will be the youngest player to ever feature in the competition if he plays in the last-16 tie with Schalke. The current record is held by former Chelsea defender Celestine Babayaro, who played for Anderlecht at the age of 16 years and 87 days in 1994.
Madrid beat off competition from many of Europe’s top clubs to sign Odegaard from Stromsgodset in January and he reportedly impressed in his first appearance in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday.
He is already the youngest player to have featured in UEFA senior international competition after playing for Norway last year at the age of 15.
He now could make his full debut in the Segunda B clash against Athletic Bilbao B on Sunday.
Real Madrid’s other January signing, Lucas Silva, has also been included in the Champions League squad.
