Watford will discuss the future of Troy Deeney in a board meeting on Tuesday, with Leicester ready to pay a staggering £30 million for the Hornets captain.Deeney is demanding talks after Watford rejected two bids from the Premier League champions and insisted he was not for sale.
Leicester, however, are set to make a third offer in the next 48 hours and are refusing to admit defeat in their pursuit of the 27-year-old forward.
Deeney has expressed a desire to speak to Leicester and Watford will discuss their next move on Tuesday, after rejecting a £25million proposal over the weekend.
Leicester's head of recruitment Steve Walsh has identified Deeney as a priority target and they believe a deal can be done, despite Watford’s stance that he will not be leaving Vicarage Road.
Watford will have to pay 25 per cent of any fee to League One club Walsall and fear replacing Deeney will be a huge task for new head coach Walter Mazzarri.
Deeney moved to Vicarage Road in 2010 for £500,000 and has since emerged as the club’s talisman, scoring 13 goals in the Premier League last season.
