The Liverpool chief executive, Ian Ayre, has flown to Serbia to seal a deal for Red Star Belgrade’s talented teenage midfielder Marko Grujic.

The 19-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield over the past month and indicated on Wednesday he could become Jürgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager when he posted an image of himself and the Kop on Facebook.

Klopp has become personally involved in the pursuit of the playmaker following encouragement from his assistant, and Grujic’s compatriot, Zeljko Buvac.

Internazionale had been favourites to sign the Red Star academy graduate but talks with Klopp appear to have swayed the player towards Merseyside.

Grujic would cost about £5m and is likely to remain on loan with the Serbian league leaders until the end of the season should he sign a contract with Liverpool in January. Ayre wants to conclude the transfer and see off competition from Inter.

The Anfield club are also hoping to strike a pre-contract agreement in January with the Schalke defender Joël Matip, who is out of contract with the Bundesliga club next summer.

Marko Grujic has agreed a five-year contract with Liverpool ahead of completing his £5million move from Red Star Belgrade.

The highly-rated Serbia Under-21s midfielder is expected to fly to Merseyside this week to undergo a medical.

Liverpool will pay Red Star 7million euros (£5million) to secure his services.

However, under the terms of the deal, the Reds will receive 1million euros (£730,000) back as a loan fee after agreeing to let him remain in his homeland until the end of the season.

Red Star have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause.

Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre flew out to Belgrade last week to complete what is the first signing of Jurgen Klopp's Anfield reign.

Initially, Liverpool feared they would miss out to Inter Milan in the battle for the 19-year-old's signature.

However, Klopp spoke to Grujic personally in order to spell out why he wanted him at Anfield and that swung the deal the Reds' way.

Grujic came up through the ranks at Red Star’s youth academy and made his first-team debut at the age of 17 in May 2013.

He has since gone on to become a firm fans’ favourite and has helped Red Star build a commanding lead at the top of the table this season.

Grujic, who has scored five goals for Red Star so far this term, was part of the Serbia squad who won the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand back in June.

哥蘭古積透露紅星因資金問題才急於出售古積：「我現在說的人是（紅星）球會的掌權人，球會因資金耗盡而靠賣出馬古（古積）套現，所有人都支持他們的決定。他們每天都打10次電話來催促馬古簽合同，加上塞爾維亞傳媒又不斷渲染，說謝拉特的8號正等著他、高普和他通過電話；還有球會跟球員說，他們的薪金源自馬古的轉會費，令我的兒子在更衣室裡飽受壓力。」

哥蘭古積指只有意甲球會烏甸尼斯和他們接觸過：「我們只是和烏甸尼斯傾談過，但沒有達成任何共識，他們是想看看馬古是個怎樣的孩子，僅此而已。但這時卻突然傳出利物浦有意羅致的傳聞……所以我只能說護照在我的身上，保證馬古不會離開，不會去任何地方。」

貝爾格萊德紅星官方事後發聲明澄清事件：「過去10天裡的們共收到3份報價，包括利物浦開出的500萬鎊及在下個交易獲得10%轉會費。雖然紅星希望古積能留下10年，但礙於財政問題，董事會一致決定接受紅軍的報價。但尊重古積父子的意願，球會隨即開出73萬鎊向利物浦外借古積直至完季。我們相信古積有能力在大球會立足，並在英國建立豐功偉業。」


    

古積獲英國簽證 下周晏菲路體測



貝爾格萊德紅星中場馬高古積已獲發英國簽證，向轉投利物浦又邁進了一步。據來自塞爾維亞的媒體報道，雖然遭到父親反對，但古積已在個人Facebook證實了自己會加盟利物浦，而在他拿到英國簽證後，預料他會在下周一（1月4日）到晏菲路進行體測。消息指，19歲的古積在體測後會返回貝爾格萊德紅星完成餘下賽季，而紅軍希望在2016/17球季將他列為球隊其中一員。

Liverpool set to announce Marko Grujic as Jurgen Klopp's first signing

Liverpool are expected to announce their first signing under Jurgen Klopp on Monday.

Marko Grujic will become the first new arrival at Anfield under the German manager when he completes his £5.1m move from Red Star Belgrade.

"On 4th January I will become a Liverpool player," confirmed the 19-year-old in a post on his Facebook account.

However, the Serbia U21 international will be loaned straight back to the SuperLiga leaders for the remainder of the season under terms of the transfer.

Red Star, who have a 25-point title lead and are unbeaten in 22 league matches, confirmed the deal in a statement on their website before Christmas.

"In the last 10 days we have received three formal offers for the transfer of our player Marko Grujic: from Anderlecht ?2m, Stuttgart ?5m, and from Liverpool we received an offer worth ?7m and 10 per cent of the next transfer," said the club.

"All in Red Star sincerely want Marko Grujic to stay for the next 10 years, but the financial situation of our club dictates the adoption of a different decision.

"The board considered the offer and unanimously accepted the offer of the English giants.

"Liverpool will pay the money immediately, and the player will stay in Red Star until 01/07/2016.

"We wanted to respect the desire of the player's father Marko Grujic remain until next summer at our club and we agreed to pay Liverpool ?1m for the loan of six months."

Young Serbian midfielder becomes first signing for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manger

Marko Grujic is officially a Liverpool player after completing a £5.1m move from Red Star Belgrade.

The 19-year-old Serbian midfielder becomes Jurgen Klopp’s first signing as Liverpool manager and has agreed a five-year deal stretching to the summer of 2020.

As the ECHO previously reported, Grujic will immediately return to Belgrade and will join up with the Reds in July for pre-season.

Grujic arrived in Liverpool on Sunday to complete his medical after Liverpool fought off late – and higher – bids – for the player from Russian clubs Zenit St Petersburg and CSKA Moscow with both offering 10m euros.

The player himself though was intent on moving to Anfield was insistent on moving to Anfield after Klopp had become personally involved in the deal – speaking to the Serbian Under-21 international – and helping to swing the deal in his favour.

Klopp’s assistant manager Zeljko Buvac has also been closely monitoring the progress of his fellow countryman.

Liverpool initially feared they were trailing Inter Milan in the battle for the Grujic signature while Stuttgart were another club to table a bid for his services.

Red Star are in significant debt and want to avoid a repeat of the UEFA sanctions of two years ago which prevented them competing in European competition.

Grujic will win the title with Red Star this yerar as they are 25 points clear having not lost a domestic league game all season. Red Star are also though to have negotiated a 10% sell-on clause.

The midfielder is a product of their youth academy and made his first-team debut at the age of 17 in May 2013.
