Mandanda Pens Crystal Palace Deal
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of goalkeeper Steve Mandanda on a three year deal from Marseille for an undisclosed fee. The French international is currently with his national team at Euro 2016 alongside new Palace teammate Yohan Cabaye, as the hosts prepare for their quarter-final clash with Iceland, but he has completed a medical and will head to Selhurst Park at the competition’s conclusion.
31-year-old Mandanda made 443 appearances between the posts for L’OM during nine seasons of service at Stade Velodrome where he won one league title and three French League Cups.
He has been named Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year on four occasions including last season, and that fine form has seen him capped 22 times for Les Bleus since 2008. He has been named in three European Championship squads as well as going to the 2010 World Cup.
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, his career started at Le Havre where he made his professional debut in 2005.
