Serie A: Samuel Eto'o ready to quit Sampdoria just a week after joining from Everton Samuel Eto'o could be on the way out of Sampdoria just a week after joining from Everton, according to reports in Italy. The 33-year-old striker made his debut for Sampdoria as a 71st-minute substitute during a 5-1 defeat at Torino on Sunday.
Sampdoria manager Sinisa Mihajlovic subsequently ordered the squad to attend an extra training session - sparking a row with former Cameroon star Eto'o, who allegedly refused.Mihajlovic said: "There wasn't an argument with Eto'o, for the simple reason that there has to be two people to argue. And instead he did everything by himself. I didn't see him again after the morning training session nor did I speak to him.
"I don't know why he left, nor do I know what the club plans to do now. All that is certain is that the player didn't give me any explanation. I consider it a serious lack of respect toward me and the squad."The club have refused to confirm the incident, which further reports claim could lead to the termination of Eto'o's contract after just one week.
Instead, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero said: "It was only a difference of opinions and, truthfully, a small one too. We are calm. Samp is very stable."
Eto'o, who began his senior career at Real Madrid, has won three La Liga titles with Barcelona, a Serie A title with Inter Milan and three Champions League titles over the course of a glittering career.
