Lazar Markovic completes Fenerbahce medical ahead of loan move from Liverpool

Lazar Markovic is a step closer to finalising his loan move from Liverpool to Fenerbahce after completing his medical with the Turkish outfit.

The Serbian only moved to Anfield last summer in a £20m transfer from Portuguese side Benfica but scored three goals last season against Bournemouth, Sunderland and Tottenham.

Having started only 23 games from a possible 58, he hasn't been involved at all so far this season and could have his move confirmed on Sunday.

Markovic is set to spend the rest of the campaign in Istanbul, where he will team up with former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.

Fenerbahce will play in the Europa League group phase, where they will face Scottish champions Celtic, Ajax and Molde.

Markovic completes Fenerbahce loan switch

Lazar Markovic has completed a season-long loan switch to Fenerbahce, Liverpool can confirm.

The 21-year-old winger will spend 2015-16 with the Turkish club, who finished second in the Super Lig last term.

Markovic has made 34 appearances and scored three goals for the Reds since being signed from Benfica last summer.

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has joined Turkish side Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal.
A £20m signing from Benfica last summer, the 21-year-old is being allowed to move to aid his development and Liverpool insist he will be returning to Anfield.
The Reds will receive a loan fee from Fenerbahce.
The Serbia international made 34 appearances, including 11 Premier League starts, last season.
