Deportivo are very close to agreeing terms with Liverpool for the loan of Luis Alberto. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder spent last season on loan at Málaga, scoring twice in 15 appearances. Depor coach Víctor knows the player well from their time together in the 2011-12 season when he was Michel’s assistant and is keen to strengthen the team’s attack because as of the moment, he only has Oriol Riera and Luis Fernández up front.
Luis Alberto’s versatility is what has attracted the Depor coach – he can play in a number of positions as an attacking midfielder, deep-lying forward or out wide on the right wing.
Depor hope to announce the agreement with Liverpool this week. They are equally confident that they can secure Brazilian centre-back Sidnei on a permanent basis from Benfica (Benfica and Gestifute jointly own his rights); The team begin their pre-season in Guitiriz tomorow and Víctor hopes both deals will be completed in the next couple of days.
