MANCINI: TEVEZ CAN BE BACK FOR FINAL
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is quietly confident Carlos Tevez will be fit to play in the FA Cup final on May 14.
Tevez was forced to sit out the semi-final victory against Manchester United last weekend after suffering a hamstring injury in the defeat by Liverpool.
City expect him to miss the next four league games as well, starting at Blackburn on Monday.
But Mancini believes his Argentinian skipper could be back to face Stoke at Wembley next month.
"I hope Carlos can recover in time as we have four weeks, " the City boss said.
Full-back Micah Richards is also ruled out of the Blackburn game after missing the semi-final with a hamstring problem.
Mancini added: "Micah is not ready yet. He needs another week to ten days to recover."
Richards is confident of getting back to fitness in plenty of time for Wembley.
"I was a bit gutted, as I strained my hamstring again on Friday," Richards said. "I was down to play as well.
"I'll definitely be fit for the final. I'll make sure of it.
"It was still a great day and I was just happy for the boys. It was a great event and it was great to be at Wembley and to beat United.
"The boys deserve to be there for all the hard work they've put in. There's been a lot of criticism recently from people saying we're not up to it, but we prove people wrong all the time.
"And they did that again with the performance on Saturday - so long may it continue."
