Nani holds talks with Fenerbahce over move from Man Utd



Manchester United winger Nani has held positive talks with Turkish club Fenerbahce, according to Sky sources.Fenerbahce have not yet agreed a deal with United and they are one of several clubs interested in the Portuguese winger.

United bought the 28-year-old from Sporting Lisbon for 25.5million euros in 2007, and he has three years left to run on his current deal.

In 2005, Nani started his career with Sporting Lisbon, making his debut against Udinese in the Champions League. He rose to prominence the following season scoring against Spartak Moscow in the same competition in a 1-1 draw.

He joined his Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at the club, but was unable to make the same impact. He fell out of favour with David Moyes during his tenure at Old Trafford and was frozen out of Louis van Gaal's plans when the Dutchman succeeded Moyes last summer.

Nani enjoyed a second spell with Sporting last term, impressing with 12 goals in 35 league appearances while on loan. He also scored in a penalty shootout against Sporting Braga in the Portuguese Cup final to help his secure silverware.

The winger won four Premier League titles during his stay in England alongside the Champions League and Club World Cup. In the 2010/2011 season he was included in the PFA team of the year.

Manchester United winger Nani is poised to join Fenerbahce in a £3.5million deal by the end of the week.
The Portuguese is expected in Istanbul this weekend to finalise a move to Turkey after being told he has no future at Old Trafford.
United and Fenerbahce are confirming the finer details of the deal ahead of Nani's arrival.
Talks between both clubs have been ongoing for over a week, but sources close to the deal believe a breakthrough has been reached.
Nani only signed a new five-year deal in 2013, but with his chances under Louis van Gaal virtually non-existent he has decided to leave.
He spent last season on loan at former club Sporting Lisbon, where he made 35 appearances, scoring 10 times.
Sir Alex Ferguson praised him after he was named the club's Player of the Year following their title-winning 2010-11 campaign in which they also reached the Champions League final.
Nani, who has struggled to cement his place in the first team since arriving at Old Trafford, previously hinted at a potential return to United once his loan ends.
The 28-year-old winger joined United from Sporting in July 2007 in a £25.5m move, but after more than 200 appearances he will depart Old Trafford for pastures new.  
He will join his international team-mates Raul Meireles and Bruno Alves at Fenerbahce.

Manchester United winger Nani is to have a medical at Fenerbahce on Sunday ahead of a proposed move to the Turkish side.

The Turks announced the news on social media on Thursday night, saying on twitter: "Fenerbahce has begun talks with Luis Nani and his club Manchester United to transfer the player.

"Nani will be in Istanbul on Sunday for a medical check up."

Nani signed a new five-year deal at Old Trafford in 2013 but spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon and is looking for a new club after being told he is not part of Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal's plans.

During his time at Old Trafford the 28-year-old won the Champions League and four Premier League titles, and he has also been capped 86 times for Portugal.

Manchester United winger Nani is to have a medical at Turkish side Fenerbahce after the clubs agreed a 6m Euro (£4.25m) fee.

The 28-year-old Portugal international moved to Old Trafford in 2007 from Sporting Lisbon.

He spent last season back on loan with the Portuguese side, scoring 11 goals.

Fenerbahce said  negotiations to "transfer the player" were under way and that "Nani will be in Istanbul on Sunday for medical check up".

Nani has won four Premier League titles and the Champions League during his time with Manchester United.

He signed a five-year deal with the club in September 2013.
