Over the course of the window, the Potters will be linked with scores of players from around the country, and around the world, as Tony Pulis looks to build a squad ready for a fourth term in the top flight. We aim to keep tabs on all the speculation, from the sublime to the ridiculous.
Latest link: England international defender Jonathan Woodgate has emerged as an apparent target for the Potters, according to Wednesday's edition of the Yorkshire Post. The Leeds based publication believe the Potters hold the upper hand on Leeds in the race to sign the 31-year old, who was recently released from Tottenham Hotspur. Meanwhile, the Greek media are reporting that their international full-back Vasilis Torosidis is on the verge of completing a move to the Britannia Stadium. The 26-year old Olympiacos star won the 'Greek Player of the Year Award' last season.
Meanwhile: Tony Pulis is once again being linked with fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy as he looks to add more attacking options to his squad. Pulis made no secret of his desire to bring Bellamy to the Britannia Stadium last year when he opted for a season-long loan move to Championship club Cardiff City. Now, the Welsh international is looking for another move away from Manchester City and both the Sun and the Mirror report that Pulis has entered the race to acquire his services, believing that his experience will be a valuable addition to his squad for the coming season.
Elsewhere: The national media are today reporting that Tony Pulis has joined the race to sign Manchester United's experienced pair Wes Brown and John O'Shea. Both players have been linked with a move to Sunderland, but the Daily Mail claim Pulis is hoping to land England international Brown and say that a move to the Britannia Stadium would appeal to him with the prospect of European football. The Mirror, meanwhile, say that the Potters are interested in both Brown and his Old Trafford colleague O'Shea, who would certainly add strength in depth to the squad due to his ability to play in a number of different defensive and midfield positions.
