Levy - Modric going nowhere
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy insists Luka Modric will not be sold at any price after holding discussions with the midfielder over his future.The Croatia international, who expressed his desire to move to Chelsea last month, met Levy on Wednesday evening for brief talks.
He flew in to Heathrow from Croatia then travelled straight from the airport to White Hart Lane, where he met with the chairman for 40 minutes before leaving the stadium.
No sale
Levy has previously asserted that the 25-year-old playmaker will not be sold this summer, a point that was underlined when Spurs turned down a £22million offer from Chelsea.
And the chairman has reiterated that stance, insisting the club are drawing a line under the saga.
He told Sky Sports News: "We had a very good conversation and, as I've said previously, Luka Modric will not be sold.
"That's the end of it. As I said a few weeks ago, there's no further discussion on it.
"He's been on holiday but we've now had the conversation and he understands our position."However, Levy refused to confirm Modric's stance on the situation, simply adding:
"I'm just telling you what the position is - he won't be sold."
"I'm sure once he's back with his team-mates everything will be fine."No difference
Levy is adamant money is not a factor in the decision, insisting Spurs will not change their position if Chelsea or any other club come in with a higher bid.
He said "It would make no difference.
This is not about money. We're not selling our best players."Both manager Harry Redknapp and Levy have continuously asserted they intend to keep the midfielder at Spurs this summer, despite reported interest from several Premier League clubs.
Modric played a key role for Tottenham last season, emerging as one of their star players.
