Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City are in the final stages of negotiations regarding the proposed signing of Arsenal's Samir Nasri.

City have been chasing Nasri's signature all summer and they are now thought to be close to bringing the France international to the Etihad Stadium.

Talks between both clubs are thought to be at an advanced stage and the North West outfit are hoping to make the talented midfielder their latest summer capture.

The 24-year-old's future at Arsenal has been the subject of conjecture for some time, with the Frenchman refusing to sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Gunners chief Arsene Wenger was hopeful of keeping one of his key men at the Emirates, but it appears he has now decided to sell rather than risk losing him for nothing when his contract expires next summer.

Nasri has not featured for Arsenal so far this season and it appears he is on the verge of sealing his switch away from the club.

His signing would be a major boost for City boss Roberto Mancini as he looks to mount a serious bid for the Premier League title this season.

Freiburg striker's price tag could be a stumbling block

Skysports.com understands Sunderland hold an interest in Papiss Demba Cisse, but the Freiburg striker's price tag could be a stumbling block.

Cisse has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League this summer and has previously admitted he would be keen on playing in England.

Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur are all understood to have checked on Cisse, who is under contract until 2014.

However, Freiburg's reported ?15million (£13m) valuation of the 26-year-old has dissuaded clubs from following up with a firm bid.

It is now understood that the Black Cats have joined their top-flight rivals in keeping tabs on Cisse as Steve Bruce weighs up whether to improve his attacking options.

Bruce has been active in the transfer market this summer, with the number of deals completed into double figures and he is considering a further foray before the transfer window closes.

The Black Cats currently only have Asamoah Gyan as an experienced frontman after losing Darren Bent and Danny Welbeck from their squad, and seeing Fraizer Campbell sidelined by a long-term injury.

Promising duo Connor Wickham and Ji Dong-won arrived at the Stadium of Light over the summer, but Cisse would bring a proven pedigree.

He is also wanted by Freiburg's Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg, but his coach Markus Sorg expressed his hope last week that Cisse would still be at the club once the transfer deadline has passed.

Juventus have completed the transfer of promising youngster Prince-Desir Gouano from Le Havre for a fee of ?1.5 million, according to L'Equipe

A number of recent reports already suggested that the Serie A side were interested in signing the 17-year-old and Gouano has now allegedly signed a three-year deal with an option for two additional seasons.

Gouano is expected to start his Juventus career in the club's Primavera squad.

The France Under-18 star is a product of the illustrious Le Havre youth academy and made his official debut for the Ligue 2 side in the fixture against Metz back in May.

Juventus and Le Havre have yet to confirm the transfer, but an official announcement on the deal is expected to be released shortly.

Liverpool youngster Dani Pacheco looks poised to join Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan.

Sources close to the Primera Liga outfit claim a deal is almost done and that the promising forward will return to his homeland on a deal that will run until June 2012.

It is claimed that the 20-year-old will arrive in Madrid for a medical on Monday and to complete the relevant paperwork.

A number of clubs are reported to have contacted Liverpool this summer regarding a possible transfer, with permanent and short-term agreements discussed.

Pacheco, though, has had the final say in where he ends up, with it important for him to get games.

He believes he will get the opportunities he craves at Rayo Vallecano and considers them to be the best choice for his career.

Choice

The youngster revealed back in July that he was prepared to leave Liverpool in order to find regular football.

He hinted that a return to Spain would be his preferred choice, and it appears as though he may be about to get his wish.

Pacheco said at the time: "Above all, I want to play and if I have to leave to do that then there will be no problem.

"Some day I would like to return home. If it happens, it happens."

Pacheco took in a loan spell at Norwich last season, scoring two goals in six appearances as the Canaries secured promotion out of the Championship.
