Everton have signed Argentine striker Denis Stracqualursi on season-long loan.

The move comes as Yakubu exits Goodison Park to sign a permanent deal with Blackburn Rovers.

Stracqualursi, a 6ft 3in frontman, arrives from Tigres, who play in the South American country’s top division.

He was joint top scorer in the Argentine Apertura last term netting 11 times in 19 games and had been a target for champions Velez Sarsfield as they looked to replace their Fiorentina-bound star Santiago Silva.

erome Seals Move to Potters

STOKE CITY have confirmed that Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome has completed a deadline day move to the Britannia Stadium.

The former England Under-21 international has put pen to paper on a four year deal with the Potters after an undisclosed was agreed with Birmingham.

Manager Tony Pulis has long been an admirer of Jerome's, not least because he has enjoyed his visits to the Britannia Stadium, scoring six times in four appearances, and he has been linked with a move to City throughout the summer months.
