Sunderland have announced they will take up the option to sign Ahmed Elmohamady on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
The Egyptian winger moved to the Stadium of Light from homeland club ENPPI last summer on a one-year loan agreement.
He has produced a series of impressive performances for the Black Cats to help them enjoy a successful Premier League campaign.
Elmohamady, 22, has always made it clear that he would be happy to extend his stay on Wearside after settling in quickly to his new surroundings.
And Sunderland have now revealed on their official website that, following talks with ENPPI, a permanent transfer will be finalised in the summer.
"Ahmed has been a pleasure to have around the place since he joined us," said manager Steve Bruce.
"He's a great professional, has settled into the club and is keen to learn.
"He is adapting well to the unique demands of the Premier League and I'm certain there's still much more to come from him."
