Juventus’ CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that Nani will be staying at Old Trafford, claiming that he has already agreed a new deal.
Although it was claimed that Manchester United would be looking to tie up new deals for Nani, Nemanja Vidic and Wayne Rooney, rumours of a Nani move to Juve persisted.
Paddy Power amongst other bookies began paying out on Nani joining the Italian side but have been left with egg on their faces if Giuseppe Marotta is to be believed.
Speaking after his side was drawn with Real Madrid, Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen, Marotta is quoted as saying:
“Nani has extended his contract with United and we (Juve) have no deal with him.”
Nani has spoken of trying to impress for United this season, thus hinting at a stay and looked good in his appearances for United during pre season.
A hamstring injury against AIK Footbol has seen him sidelined but he should be fit in the coming weeks as the season picks up again.
