Golden Foot Award 2014 nominees announced 
The ceremony at which the names of the 10 candidates for the title of “Best Player of the Year-Golden Foot Award 2014”
were announced took place this year in Qatar at the St Regis Doha Hotel, one of Qatar’s most prestigious venues.
In the presence of the President of Golden Foot Award Monaco, Michele Caliendo, and the Master of Ceremonies Lorena Baricalla, Didier Drogba –
winner of the title last year –announced the names of the 10 candidates who were voted for by websurfers (from an initial list of 30 names put forward by the Media Partners):
Thierry HENRY, Andres INIESTA, Marta VIEIRA DA SILVA, Manuel NEUER, Andrea PIRLO, Franck RIBERY,Cristiano RONALDO, Wayne ROONEY, Thiago SILVA, Yaya TOURE’. The film of the announcement can be viewed on social networks such as YouTube and Facebook and is shown on international TV channels.
The final voting phase is now open online and fans are invited to vote for their champion directly on the site
www.goldenfoot.com or on Golden Foot Award Monaco’s Facebook page, before 24th August.
The prize-giving ceremony will take place in the Principality of Monaco on Monday 13th October 2014 with a gala evening, in the presence of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
During the Gala awards will be presented to the winner of the “Best Player of the Year-Golden Foot Award 2014”,
voted for by the fans online, and to 5 of the greatest champions in the history of football in the category “Football Legends -Golden Foot Award 2014”.
This XII Edition will be marked by the exceptional participation of American cinema stars, great sporting champions,
VIP and important names from the fashion world, as well as the award winners from previous years.
The program for the 2014 Awards Ceremony is a 4-day event.
FRIDAY 10th October: Opening Press Conference Grimaldi Forum – Sportel
SATURDAY 11th October: Footprints Ceremony – Golden Foot Legends 2014 Cocktail Event – Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort
SUNDAY 12th October: Official interviews – Media Day Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort
MONDAY 13th October: GOLDEN FOOT AWARD 2014 – Gala Dinner
Awards to the Golden Foot Legends and to the Best Player of the Year Salle des Etoiles, Monte-Carlo Sporting
A detail of this Award is that the winners leave their footprints in bronze on the “Champions Promenade” – an open-air museum along the Principality of Monaco’s waterfront.
This Walk of Fame of the greatest footballers of all time was the brainchild of Antonio Caliendo,
President of the World Champions Club (WCC) and the first professional agent in the history of football.
