FC Barcelona would like to announce they have reached a deal with Gerard Pique to extend his contract, which runs out on 30 June 2015, for a further four years. The new contract will keep Pique at the Club until the end of the 2018/19 season and will be signed within the next few days
Homegrown talent After coming up through the academy system, Pique spent three years with Manchester United and another season with Zaragoza before returning to Barca in 2008,
coinciding with the start of the Guardiola era. Over the next six seasons, Pique played 266 games scoring 20 goals and winning a title of 16 titles.
Pique has had some unforgettable moments at Barca, such as his goal in the historic 2-6 win at the Bernabeu
and this season he scored Barca’s goal number one thousand in international games.

La Liga: Spain defender Gerard Pique commits to Barcelona on a four-year deal 
Barcelona have agreed a four-year contract extension with central defender Gerard Pique. The 27-year-old Spain international's new deal ties him to the Catalan giants until the end of the 2018/19 season. A Barca statement read: "Barcelona announce they have reached an agreement with Gerard Pique for the renovation of his contract,
which would have finished on June 30, 2015, for the next five seasons.
"The new contract will run until the end of the season 2018/19 season and will be signed in the coming days." Pique is the latest in a long line of Barca players to sign new deals at the Nou Camp recently,
including star playmaker Lionel Messi, who put pen to paper on a revised contract on Monday.
Barcelona-born Pique came up through the youth ranks at his home-town club before joining Manchester United in 2004. After four years at Old Trafford, which included a spell on loan at Real Zaragoza,
Pique returned to Barca in 2008 and helped form one of the most successful club sides in history under Pep Guardiola.
He has won 16 trophies with Barca, including four Primera Division titles, two Champions League crowns and two Copa del Reys,
