Manchester United misfit Anderson is in discussions to finally end his Old Trafford career and return to Brazil.

Internacional have made contact with United, as well as the player's representatives, and further talks are planned on Friday morning.

Anderson has been surplus to requirements under Louis Van Gaal and indeed under David Moyes, who loaned him out to Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old has rarely shown glimpses of his potential since moving from Porto with Nani in a deal worth £26million in 2007.

He is out of contract and United have considered cancelling that deal but Internacional may now agree to pay a small fee as all parties seek a compromise agreement.

The player's agent Sergio Leisman is due to meet Internacional's president to push through terms.

ANDERSON SET TO SIGN FOR INTERNACIONAL

Manchester United midfielder Anderson is set to sign for Brazilian club Internacional tomorrow, writes The Mail on Sunday.

The report suggests discussions are ongoing about the cancellation of Anderson's Old Trafford contract, while Internacional have offered a four-year deal worth around £25,000-a-week.

MATA HINTS AT ANDERSON EXIT

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has wished team-mate Anderson good luck ahead of a potential move back to Brazil.

The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move to Internacional and Mata has hinted on his blog that the deal is imminent.

The Spanish international said: "I want to wish good luck to my friend Anderson, who is back to football in his native Brazil. All the best, my friend!"

The 26-year-old spent seven years at Old Trafford after joining the club from Porto for a fee of around £26m.

Anderson has struggled with injury and fitness, hardly featuring for United's first team in recent seasons.

He leaves on a free transfer.
