Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is set to secure a return to Argentina with Boca Juniors after bust-up at Inter Milan - Dani Osvaldo fell out with Roberto Mancini and Mauro Icardi at Inter Milan
- He was sent on loan to Italy at the start of the season by Southampton
- Now the striker can return to Argentina with Boca Juniors on loan
Dani Osvaldo will complete his move to Boca Juniors barring any last minute hiccups. The Southampton striker was born in Buenos Aires and is keen to return to Argentina after an ill-fated spell on loan with Inter Milan.
Osvaldo, 29, has been ostracised at Inter after a bust-up with coach Roberto Mancini and team-mate Mauro Icardi. Boca Juniors director Marcelo London said: 'The deal is very advanced.
On Tuesday he’ll sign, and we’ll be able to say that he’s our player. Osvaldo is in perfect condition, and will be Boca’s eighth signing.
'He’ll come on loan, with a clause that states if Boca play in the semi-final and final of the Copa Libertadores he can play those games.'
Argentina's transfer window closes on Sunday.
Boca are willing to make the deal permanent at the end of the season and will offer a two year deal but have yet to agree a fee. Osvaldo cost Southampton £11.2m.
