Transfer News: Hull City make bid for Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley



Hull City have joined Aston Villa and Valencia in the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley.

Hull boss Steve Bruce confirmed there has been contact between the two clubs and that he has made an undisclosed offer for the England midfielder.

Bruce told Sky Sports News HQ: "There has been conversations between the two clubs and we did have some sort of offer,

but where we are up to between the two clubs I am not too sure because I have been away in London.

"If there is a deal to be done to try and get somebody like Tom then of course we would be interested."

On Friday, Sky sources revealed that Spanish side Valencia had made a surprise move for the 25-year-old who has also been the subject of a bid from Aston Villa.

United manager Louis van Gaal is thought to be prepared to listen to offers for Cleverley,

who has just 12 months left on his contract, as he looks to shake things up following a poor start to the season.

Tom Cleverley: Aston Villa await approval for loan of Man Utd player



Aston Villa are awaiting Premier League approval in order to complete the signing of Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley on loan until January.
The deal was struck late on transfer deadline day on Monday and must be sanctioned by the Premier League board.
Cleverley, 25, came through United's academy system and signed a new four-year contract in October 2011.
But he has played only one of United's four matches this season and appears surplus to requirements at the club.
