Arsene Wenger has been dropped as a commentator by France's main commercial channel TF1.
The Arsenal manager has been commentating on games for the station for 10 years, but has been let go with immediate effect.
According to French newspaper Le Parisien,
the Gunners chief was "greatly surprised" by the decision.
However, there were also claims in France that the arrangement had been reached in a "joint agreement".
Wenger had worked during the summer with TF1 on all of France's World Cup matches, with
Les Bleus reaching the quarter-finals before losing to eventual champions Germany.
Wengerwas not involved during the channel's broadcast of France's 1-0 winover Spain on Thursday evening, when Chelsea new boy Loic Remy scoredthe winner.
