Arsenal transfer news: Galatasaray set to end Lukas Podolski's nightmare



Podolski is available for transfer at Emirates Stadium, despite the Germain international claiming he would prefer to stay at the club.

Galatasaray made a bid to sign the 30-year-old in January only to lose out to Inter Milan, who acquired him on loan.

But they hope to succeed second time around with Galatasaray sporting director Cüneyt Tanman saying: “We are interested in Podolski."

In a recent interview, the former Bayern Munich star revealed he wouldn't rule out a move to Turkey should the opportunity arise.

He said: “If an offer comes from Turkey, I will sit down and talk about it with my family and girlfriend.

“If I find the right club, the right coach, the right environment, I will evaluate it. If these conditions are met, I think everything is possible.

“The next transfer could be my last, so I have to take a well-thought step.”

Podolski still has one year left on his contract at Arsenal, but faces a grim future there given the number of forwards ahead of him in the pecking order.

阿仙奴前鋒普多斯基（Lukas Podolski）自加盟之後總是得不到領隊雲加的歡心，上季上陣次數寥寥無幾之餘，下半季更被外借到國際米蘭，與球隊「分手」似只是時間問題。早前他接受了土超加拉塔沙雷的電視官方頻道訪問，並談及斟介已經進行當中：「對，阿仙奴與加拉塔沙雷確有進行過會議，我亦希望轉會可以成功……我會很想為加拉塔沙雷效力，因為他們的球迷真的很好。他們在社交網站對我展現出很大的興趣。」

以社交網站來評定球迷的熱情看來有點古怪，然而一直在阿仙奴未奪得正選之位的他，其實醉心於不同社交網站，在數個社交網站中都非常活躍，球迷透過這個渠道打動了「科隆王子」亦不奇怪。外間估計，如果轉會成功阿仙奴將會得到300萬歐元的轉會費，而普多斯基亦有望取得較多上陣機會。

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski to sign for Galatasaray on Saturday

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski will complete his transfer to Galatasaray this afternoon.

Podolski will sign his contract in front of the fans after the Turkish Super League club finally got their man at the fourth attempt.

Hamza Hamzaoglu's side confirmed the news on their Twitter feed: "Germany number 10 Lukas Podolski will officially sign the contract at the Türk Telekom Arena today at 16:30 local time, 15:30 CET."

Gala originally tried to sign Podolski while he was at FC Koln in 2012 but the German World Cup winner opted to sign for Arsene Wenger’s side for £11m.

The Istanbul side made two more failed attempts to sign the 30-year-old, who struggled to secure a regular starting role and spent the second half of last season on loan at Inter Milan.

Despite moving to Arsenal with a fine reputation, Podolski's chances became limited as Wenger added the likes of Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck to his forward options.

Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at his disposal - which is the likely reason why the Frenchman could not guarantee Podolski the game-time he craves.

Lukas Podolski has completed his transfer from Arsenal to Galatasaray.

The 30-year-old Germany forward has signed a three-year deal for the Turkish Super Lig champions, doing so in front of the media and supporters upon his arrival in Istanbul.

Lukas Podolski put the finishing touches on his move from Arsenal to Galatasaray after undergoing a medical and signing a contract in Istanbul on Saturday.

The 30-year-old was greeted by fans at Sabiha Gokcen Airport on Saturday morning after flying in to finalise his move.

Podolski then underwent a medical before signing his three-year contract at the Turk Telecom Arena, understood to be for an initial fee of 2.5million euros (£1.8m) plus add-ons.

The club made the transfer official on Saturday afternoon despite the best efforts of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to convince Podolski to stay in north London.
