Manchester United transfers: Victor Valdes 'in talks with Turkish club Antalyaspor'



Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes is reportedly in talks to move to Turkish outfit Antalyaspor.

The ambitious side have already moved for Samuel Eto'o following their promotion to the top flight, and are also in negotiations with Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.

Analyaspor's press officer, Hasan Ali Ceylan, told Eurosport they were in discussions over taking the keeper to Turkey.

He said: "We are in talks with Victor Valdes. Once an agreement is reached we will be able to sign yet another world star to Antalyaspor."

With talk of David De Gea's potential move to Real Madrid refusing to go away, United can ill afford to lose both of their current keepers.

Valdes has made only two senior appearances since his switch to Old Trafford, and could be tempted by the lure of first-team football.

Victor Valdes wants Manchester United stay, claims agent

Victor Valdes wants to stay at Manchester United despite interest from Turkey, according to his agent.

The goalkeeper joined United on an 18-month deal in January, but has been linked with a move to Antalyspor, whose president declared that the Spaniard wants to leave Old Trafford.

But Valdes’ agent, Gines Carvajal, has rubbished such suggestions and says the former Barcelona man wants to stay put, despite revealing he has received contact from Turkey.

"I’ve been contacted by a series of individuals from Turkey to negotiate a move for Victor,” Carvajal told AS.

“But I haven’t spoken with the president of the Turkish club in question. I don’t know him. I have no plans to talk with them again as my player has no interest in a move to Antalyaspor.

"His only wishes are to remain at Manchester United and he has another year left on his contract. We don’t see any reason for him to leave the club."

Valdes only made his debut for Louis van Gaal's side in May, as he deputised for the injured David de Gea in the final two Premier League fixtures of the season.

De Gea has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, but Carvajal says Valdes is ready to fight for a starting berth whether the deal goes through or not.

“United are among the top two or three best teams in the world," he added.

“Victor is keen to fight for a place next season and wants to help the club as much as he can.”
