Transfer Deadline Day guide: When does the window close? What time do players have to be registered by? Who are the big stars on the move?
It's the final day of the summer transfer window and clubs across the country are gearing up for one last spending spree in 2016.
As the minutes tick away towards Wednesday's 11pm deadline a host of storylines remain unresolved across the Premier League and EFL.
Here, Sportsmail answers the key questions on every Deadline Day fanatic's lips ahead of 24 hours of mayhem...
When does the window close?
Officially, the transfer market is closed for business from 11pm on Wednesday, August 31. However, there is some room for manoeuvre for deals which are concluded late in the day.
What do clubs need to do to process at transfer?
Clubs should get all relevant documentation - that includes contracts, work permits, transfer agreements and all other paperwork - to the offices of the Premier League or EFL in advance of the 11pm cut-off.
What happens when deals are struck late on?
The teams involved are meant to advise officials about any likely late business, while the Premier League and EFL offices are staffed late to cater for any transfers that cut the deadline fine.
After 9pm, there is special paperwork clubs can fill out to give the League notice of an impending move.
Once that is delivered to the authorities, the teams involved have an extra two hours to get all the relevant documentation sent over.
Generally, that happens by email despite all the fax cliches.
And if the deadline is missed... what then?
Well, the powers-that-be have the right to decline permission for the transfer to go ahead. Moral of the story - don't leave it until the last minute.
Who are the big stars on the move?
Manchester City look like being busy in the final moments of the window. Joe Hart is moving on loan to Torino and Samir Nasri could end up at Sevilla.
Wilfried Bony and Eliaquim Mangala are also available for loan moves away from the club.
On the other side of Manchester, Bastian Schweinsteiger may look for a route out of Old Trafford while the Liverpool pair of Mario Balotelli and Mamadou Sakho could leave Anfield.
Isn't there a loan window in a couple of weeks?
Not any more. This season FIFA scrapped the emergency loan rule meaning clubs across the land must suffer through to January with whatever squad they have left come 11pm on Wednesday.
